Thunderstorms develop in our area today

The latest northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…

Rain and thunderstorms return to the local forecast Thursday, but it will not rain all day long! Beside some diminishing showers in the morning, more rain is in the forecast this afternoon and evening. Strong to borderline severe storms are possible with the main risks being very heavy rain, hail, and strong wind gusts with any thunderstorm. If heavy rain can linger over a particular area for several hours, localized flooding is possible where inches of rain may accumulate.

Humidity will be a big factor for three more days. A cold front should take care of that sticky air on Sunday as dew point drop throughout the day. Next week, comfy air and slightly below average temperatures will take over!

Today, quite humid again. Mostly cloudy skies will give way to partly sunny conditions in the afternoon. A band of weakening rain could bring some showers in the morning, then spotty thunderstorms will cover a good chunk of the map in the afternoon. Highs drop a bit from yesterday in the low to mid 80s.

Tonight, the evening will have scattered thunderstorms that disappear as the night wears on. Still humid with light winds and a warm low of 68 degrees. As temperatures fall to near the dew point overnight, a couple patches of fog may appear before the start of Friday.

Plan on mostly sunny skies on Friday with a high near 90 degrees. It will stay very humid.

Sunshine and 90 degrees again Saturday. Humidity will linger but it will be slightly less than Friday.

Humidity drops through the day on Sunday as a cold front swings in from the north. That front will be the focus for a few more showers or a thunderstorm during the day. The high is 82 degrees.
