Tree trimmer shot at in southern Wisconsin, suspect arrested after chemical munition deployment

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southern Wisconsin arrested a suspect Tuesday night after he fired gunshots at a tree trimmer in Pleasant Prairie.

According to the release, the incident was reported around 3:55 p.m. on Tuesday, when Pleasant Prairie officers received an update about a shooting near the 10300 block of 122nd Street.

Officers met with the victim, who was working at a nearby property as a contractor for a tree trimming service. A 55-year-old suspect was identified as the culprit following an investigation.

Authorities from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team helped execute the warrant, and officers from both departments served an arrest warrant around 8:30 p.m.

The suspect refused to comply with peaceful surrender oreders, and officers deployed chemical munitions to diminish the risk of any further issue.

The suspect was arrested without further incident minutes later, and taken to the Kenosha County Jail on the following charges:

  • Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide
  • Bail Jumping
