39-year-old Wisconsin man out on bail arrested for 1st-degree reckless homicide

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southwestern Wisconsin are continuing to investigate the death of a 65-year-old man who was found dead late at night on Oct. 25.

According to the release, the victim, Daniel Welsch of Prairie Du Chien was found dead inside a building, with the trauma reportedly caused by a sharp object.

A search warrant resulted in the arrest of 39-year-old Jessie Slaughter, who at the time of the incident, was out on active bond through Oneida County for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

Slaughter was transported to the Crawford County Jail after his arrest. An autopsy was conducted on Wednesday, but no details have been provided as of right now.
