Packers Sanitation Services to move headquarters from Wisconsin to Georgia, resulting in 83 layoffs

KIELER, Wis. (WFRV) – Packers Sanitation Services, Inc. (PSSI), a company specializing in food safety solutions for food processing facilities, has announced plans to relocate its headquarters from Kieler, Wisconsin, to Atlanta, Georgia.

This transition will result in the layoff of 83 workers in Wisconsin.

In a Worker Adjustment and Retention Notification (WARN) letter filed with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD), PSSI shared that the decision to move headquarters to Atlanta is expected to be permanent, with several key corporate roles already filled in the new location.

While PSSI will close its Kieler corporate office, the company intends to keep a chemical operation in Wisconsin.

The layoffs will begin on December 31, 2024, with additional staff terminations expected by March 31, 2025. None of the affected employees are covered by a collective bargaining
agreement and do not have bumping rights.

All affected employees have been notified, and severance packages will be offered based on tenure and position.
