Manitowoc officers looking to ID dog’s owner, dog involved in bite incident

MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) – Officers in Manitowoc are asking for the public’s help in identifying a dog and its owner after it bit a man and his dog while they were out for a walk.

Officers with the Manitowoc Police Department said the incident happened in the 1200 block of South 9th Street in Manitowoc between 5 and 7 p.m. on November 15.

The attacking dog, described as a black, long-haired, Shepard-type dog, reportedly bit the victim’s dog and then bit the man while he was trying to separate the two during the incident.

Authorities are hoping to identify the dog due to its vaccination status being unknown and are asking anyone who either witnessed the incident or has any relevant information to contact the department at (920) 686-6551 and reference case number 2024-00014379.
