Shooting threat at Wisconsin high school confirmed to be ‘swatting’ hoax

KENOSHA, Wis. (WFRV) – A report of shots fired in a Wisconsin high school was confirmed to be a ‘swatting’ hoax after a swift and thorough police investigation.

The Kenosha Police Department originally posted on Facebook at 11:12 a.m. reporting that officers were responding to Bradford High School in Kenosha for a report of shots fired.

The post was updated throughout the morning and into the afternoon with additional information and timestamps regarding the investigation before a later post confirmed that it was a ‘swatting’ hoax.

Officials who responded arrived quickly, and are continuing to work with other agencies to find the party responsible for the false call.

The Kenosha Police Department added that there was never a credible threat to the students, faculty or the general public.
