The Latest From Storm Team 5…
After much of the week was spent in the single digits and teens, we got rewarded today with temperatures reaching the 20s and 30s this afternoon.
For tonight, skies should start mostly clear, turning partly cloudy overnight. Winds have picked up its pace this afternoon and will be breezy at times tonight, gusting to 25mph. This will help keep lows from getting very cold, with air temperatures falling to around 10 degrees. Wind chills will hover around zero early tomorrow morning.
We are starting to click in to one of our two prominent weather patterns we have noticed occurring throughout the winter. This pattern features a big ridge to our west pulling in mild air, the major storm tracking staying south, and weak clipper systems moving in to the western Great Lakes.
Despite some early sunshine around sunrise, expect skies to be mostly cloudy. Highs reach our seasonal norms in the upper 20s and low 30s. Winds will remain breezy at times, gusting to around 20mph. No weather concerns overnight as well, mostly cloudy and lows in the mid teens.
Sunday will feature more of the same with mostly cloudy skies, cant rule out a brief flurry or light snow shower in the morning hours, but you will notice a jump in temperatures. Highs reach the middle and upper 30s to close out the weekend. Watching the chance of a rain & snow mix to move in overnight Sunday, but should be long gone before the Monday morning commute.
Much of the day Monday will be cloudy , and highs surge into the low to mid 40s! If we hit that, it will be the first day of highs in the 40s since January 30th. However, another weak rain and snow maker will move in overnight, and this could last into the early morning hours Tuesday.
