The first crews to arrive reportedly found smoke emitting from the roof of a two-story home with fire visible from the backside.

Officers with the Hartford Police Department helped firefighters search the home, helping to rescue a resident from a basement bedroom and a dog from the living room. After additional crews arrived, two cats were also found and removed from the home.

The person who was removed from the basement was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and was released shortly after. No other people were home and no other injuries occurred during the incident.

However, authorities say that the occupants of the home were displaced as a result of the fire.
