Green Bay pooches gather to celebrate ‘St. Pawtrick’s Day’ at Vital Essentials Dog Park

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – While they’re probably not going to be celebrating quite like a human might for St. Patrick’s Day on Monday, Green Bay pups and dogs were still invited for a pre-celebration on Friday afternoon.

On Broadway, Inc. hosted their second annual ‘St. Pawtrick’s Day’ celebration at the Vital Essentials Dog Park in Green Bay on Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The event featured some holiday-themed bandana giveaways to the pooches in attendance along with some fun treats.

The dogs arrived dressed in their best green apparel to celebrate while the human companions were able to have a drink and enjoy some snacks.

“Some of these holiday themed events like ‘Barktoberfest’ in the Fall seemed to be really popular at the dog park,” On Broadway, Inc. Chief Operating Officer Allie Thut-Connelly said. “We’re trying to activate the dog park and bring it to life for the holiday.”

In addition, the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Green Bay Campus was in attendance to collect unopened donations of dog food, cat food, treats and more.
