Police department in Wisconsin cracks down on retail theft, multiple arrested & stolen goods recovered

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southern Wisconsin announced the success of a retail theft operation that resulted in multiple arrests.

Multiple people were arrested in southern Wisconsin after a ‘Retail Theft Blitz’ operation at retail locations targeting retail theft incidents. The coordinated effort resulted in six in-custody arrests, police say.

Two found dead inside central Wisconsin residence, incident under investigation

A post from the Pleasant Prairie Police Department said 14 charges were issued, and merchandise was recovered from multiple stores that were not participating in the effort.

Below are some of the charges that were issued:

  • Felony retail theft
  • Felony possession of anti-theft removal devices
  • Misdemeanor retail tehft
  • Possession of THC
  • Resisting arrest and obstruction

In response to these trends, our department is intensifying efforts to combat retail theft. We will continue collaborating with local retailers and partner agencies to conduct similar operations. We are actively working to ensure the safety and security of our shopping areas.
