ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Ashwaubenon have released more details about a house fire that broke out Wednesday afternoon on Skylark Lane.
Shortly after 3:45 p.m., Ashwaubenon Public Safety responded to the 1200 block of Skylark Ln. for a report of a structure fire. The initial call indicated that the garage was on fire.
Green Bay Police investigating death after body recovered from East River
When crews arrived, they found the attached garage fully engulfed in flames, which had already begun spreading to the living areas of the home. The fire also reached a neighboring house due to its close proximity.
Firefighters extinguished the initial blaze within 30 minutes, but it took another 30 minutes to knock down the fire that had spread into the attic of the neighboring home. Crews remained on scene for about two hours checking for hot spots and additional fire spread.

No people were injured in the incident. The home where the fire started was vacant at the time, but authorities say a dog inside the residence died. The resident of the neighboring home was able to evacuate safely.
Both homes sustained significant damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

On Wednesday, April 23, large amounts of black smoke and flames were visible around 4:30 p.m. coming from the roof of a home on Skylark Lane.
