GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Former Milwaukee Bucks fan-favorite Thanasis Antetokounmpo, brother of Giannis Antetokounmpo, made the trip to Green Bay for the 2025 NFL Draft, and he didn’t hold back his praise for the city and state.
Local 5’s Paul Steeno caught up with Thanasis, who said Green Bay deserves a marquee event like this despite its small-market status.
“First of all, it’s amazing, and I’m so happy the NFL Draft is here,” said Antetokounmpo. “Hopefully the NBA Draft is next in Milwaukee. I feel like the state deserves so much by having these great teams between the Bucks, Packers, and Brewers. We deserve to have events like this.”
Though recovering from a torn Achilles, Antetokounmpo has stayed busy off the court.
He’s been focused on producing content for his podcast “Thanalysis”, where he recently interviewed former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.
Reflecting on his journey to Wisconsin, Thanasis recalled his first visit to Milwaukee when his brother Giannis was selected 15th overall by the Bucks in 2013. That first trip north eventually brought him to Titletown.
“It’s the culture,” he said. “High-working people who don’t complain and the camaraderie that people have. The tailgates behind the sport are awesome.”
Antetokounmpo is one of many notable figures to descend on Green Bay this week, as the city basks in the national spotlight of hosting the NFL’s biggest offseason event.
