THE D-O-T RELEASES ITS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STUDY ON THE HIGHWAY 23 EXPANSION PROJECT. THE STUDY MAINTAINS THAT 23 NEEDS TO BE FOUR LANES DIVIDED BETWEEN FOND DU LAC AND PLYMOUTH TO IMPROVE SAFETY AND EFFICIENCY. THE PROJECT WAS DELAYED THREE YEARS AFTER AN ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP FILED A FEDERAL LAWSUIT CHALLENGING THE FINDINGS OF THE ORIGINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STUDY. CONSTRUCTION WILL BEGIN NEXT SUMMER AND SHOULD BE DONE BY 2022.
