(WFRV) – The 2025 James Beard Awards® take place on June 16 at the Lyric Opera in Chicago, and a bar in Wisconsin was named a finalist for one of the categories, ‘Best New Bar.’
‘Agency’ in Milwaukee, a ‘hybrid cocktail bar,’ is one of five contenders for the award, with the others as follows:
- ViceVersa in Miami, Florida
- Merai in Brookline, Massachusetts
- Identidad Cocktail Bar in San Juan, Puerto Rico
- Bar Colette in Dallas, Texas

Agency, located in the Dubbel Dutch Hotel in Milwaukee, opened in 2024, and according to their menu, it is the nation’s first fully hybrid cocktail lounge.
The bar is dedicated to renovating the typical bar experience, offering every cocktail on the menu both with and without alcohol.
