ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) – Call it ‘fan’-demonium.
That’s an apt way to describe supporters of both Kimberly and Appleton East girls’ basketball right now. The Fox Valley Association rivals squared off in a state semifinal game at the Resch Center on Friday night. Kimberly prevailed 55-34.

Both teams held send-off events for their girls ahead of the game complete with police escorts.
“The energy throughout the high school is very awesome,” said Appleton East teacher and superfan Milissa Bethe. “Their positive ‘we’re just going to do what we can’ attitude is very exciting to see.”
At the sendoff for the Kimberly basketball team, several young hoopers showed up saying they’re inspired watching the high school players.
“When I grow up I want to be just like them,” said Scarlett Goffard.

“I love how they play, I love how they play defense and how they play offense,” added Hannah Lips.
Kimberly will look to bring home a state title on Saturday night.
