GREEN BAY, Wis. – Green Bay women’s basketball head coach Kayla Karius announced the addition of Carley Duffney to the 2025-26 roster.
A Green Bay native and graduate of Green Bay Preble High School, Duffney returns home after spending four collegiate seasons at South Dakota, where she played under Karius for two years.
She was part of the Coyotes’ NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 run in 2021-22 while redshirting. By the 2022-23 season, she secured a starting role midway through the year, shooting over 45% from the field and nearly 87% from the free-throw line.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Carley Duffney back home to Green Bay!” Karius said. “I really enjoyed coaching Carley at USD, and I know her versatility and skill set will fit seamlessly into our motion offense. She brings four years of college experience with her, which will be a huge asset. Welcome back, Carley and the Duffney family!”
This past season, Duffney posted career-best numbers, averaging 10.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while starting every contest and playing 35 minutes per night.
She was named to the Summit League Commissioner’s List and the CSC All-Academic List for the 2023-24 season. For her career, she has shot 43.1% from the field, 84.3% from the free-throw line, and averaged 3.5 rebounds per game.
“I’m super excited to be coming home to play for Coach Kayla and all of the Phoenix fans!” Duffney said. “I’ve been watching this program since I was a little kid, and I’m looking forward to being part of it. Can’t wait! Go Phoenix!”
At Preble, Duffney was named Fox River Classic Conference Player of the Year as a junior, surpassing 1,000 career points while earning All-FRCC First-Team honors twice.
She also competed in volleyball and track and field, setting the school record in the 300-meter hurdles.
Academically, she was a National Honor Society member and ranked in the top five percent of her class.
