Kiel Fire Department has busy evening responding to multiple calls

KIEL, Wis. (WFRV) – The Kiel Fire Department had a busy Monday night after responding to multiple calls, including two significant incidents.

The first incident started shortly after 4:45 p.m. when firefighters were sent to the 600 block of 2nd St. for a report of a garage on fire with smoke and flames visible.

Crews arrived on the scene within minutes and controlled the situation shortly after. Crews remained on the scene, conducting overhaul operations and investigating what caused the fire.

One dead, another arrested in nighttime homicide in Wisconsin

The second incident happened shortly after, at 6:30 p.m. while crews were at the fire station placing equipment back in service from the previous fire.

Crews were sent for a motorcycle and vehicle accident at the intersectino of 6th St. and Paine St. Within minutes, the Kiel Fire Department determined the need for a medical helicopter. The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital and his condition remains unknown.
