Lodge Kohler plans beer garden, VIP experience for NFL Draft

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) – With the release of NFL Draft renderings, Lodge Kohler staff knew they were in a prime location for the event.

“We’re right here at the epicenter of everything that’s going on with the draft, and we’re curating some special events that are open to the public as well as some private events,” said Jeff Overgaard, senior sales executive at Lodge Kohler.

Staff had been planning for months, but the renderings confirmed that one of the general admission entrances to the draft campus would be just a few hundred feet from the hotel’s south parking lot.

“We’re super excited with those renderings that came out and the locations of the entrances,” Overgaard said. “That really helps to promote our spaces, and the hotel being right on the corner close to those entrances and exits really helps with traffic flow.”

To prepare, staff traveled to Detroit for last year’s draft to gain insight into the event.

“We felt that there was a need for a place for guests to go during the times leading up to the draft where they could sit and hang out and grab a quick bite of food or a beverage,” Overgaard said.

In response, Lodge Kohler is organizing a public beer garden in the south parking lot, offering drinks and concession items. A ticketed VIP experience will also be available, featuring a climate-controlled tent with lounge furniture and a chef-curated menu.

To ensure smooth operations, Lodge Kohler will scale up staffing by bringing in additional personnel from its parent company’s base in Kohler.

“Our staffing is going to be really scaled up and helping out to make sure everybody’s experience here is perfect,” Overgaard said.
