Manitowoc mayor declares a snow emergency ahead of forecasted storm

MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials in Manitowoc say Mayor Justin M. Nickels has declared a snow emergency for Wednesday night into Thursday morning in preparation for the forecasted storm.

They add that even if a street appears to have already been plowed, the parking ban is still in effect on every city street and residents should not assume that because a street is plowed they can park on it.

City officials ask that drivers also remember to stay at least 75 feet behind plow truck trucks when they have their blades down and are actively plowing or when trucks are salting.

If you can’t see the driver in the mirror, the driver cannot see you. Remember plows back up
frequently. Thank you for helping our crews plow the streets safely.
