Police: Reckless driver in Wisconsin arrested after running multiple red lights before crash, one sent to hospital

FITCHBURG, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southern Wisconsin say a 21-year-old was arrested after fleeing from police before crashing into multiple vehicles.

According to the Fitchburg Police Department, on October 20, around 11:20 a.m., an officer saw a vehicle driving recklessly. The release says the vehicle ran multiple red lights and drove into oncoming traffic.

Officers reportedly tried to stop the vehicle, but it fled into the City of Madison. Eventually, the vehicle ran a red light and hit two vehicles in an intersection, according to authorities.

The driver was arrested at the scene of the crash. One person was taken to a hospital with possible injuries.

Officers say that the driver, identified as a 21-year-old from Madison, was processed at the Dane County Jail and multiple charges will be referred.
