Shawano woman gets federal indictment for drug possession on Menominee Indian Reservation

(WFRV) – The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Gregory J. Haanstad, announced that a Shawano woman was indicted by a federal grand jury on Dec. 17 for drug possession with intent to distribute.

40-year-old Dianna Chevalier is charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, with the alleged offense occurring while on the Menominee Indian Reservation.

Chevalier is an enrolled member of the Menominee Indian Tribe and lives in the Shawano area.

A conviction would see Chevalier face up to a maximum of 20 years in federal prison along with up to a $1 million fine. She would also be facing supervised release and a special $100 assessment.

According to the release, Chevalier had enough meth to signal an intent to distribute while at a location on the Menominee Indian Reservation. The alleged offense occurred on or around Sept. 10, according to the release.

The investigators in the case came from the Menominee Tribal Police Department, Menominee County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew J. Maier will serve as the prosecutor on the case in the U.S. District Court in Green Bay.
