KENOSHA, Wis. (WFRV) – A person of interest in southern Wisconsin was arrested hours after a man was found dead in a basement.
According to the Kenosha Police Department, on February 3 around 11:40 a.m., authorities responded to the 8500 block of 18th Avenue after a report of a possible burglary. A homeowner said that his back door was broken, no one was found inside.
A few hours later around 2:30 p.m., police responded to the same home for another burglar complaint. The caller reportedly saw blood outside the back door and the door forced open.
When authorities got to the scene, a man was found dead in the basement with an apparent knife wound. A dog was also found with a similar wound and it passed away not long after officers arrived according to the release.

A 41-year-old man from Kenosha was identified as a person of interest in this incident. Around 6:30 p.m., the man was seen walking in an alley. He was arrested.
The identity of the victim was not released. Police say there are no other people of interest, and the scene of the crime will have a police presence for an undetermined amount of time.
