FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – 27-year-old Taylor Schabuisness, currently serving a life sentence in prison for the murder and mutilation of Shad Thyrion in February 2022, was back in court for a competency hearing.
Court records show that Schabuisness was in court for the competency hearing regarding the alleged battery of a prison employee in July 2024.

Schabusiness allegedly attacked a prison sergeant and a prison nurse while on a visit to the medical room for a staple in her arm.
During her hearing, the court found her competent and ruled that the case can and will move forward, with a preliminary hearing on April 4 at 9 a.m.
