Trooper witnesses Green Bay crash, pursues fleeing 62-year-old on foot to arrest him for 6th OWI

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A man from Green Bay was arrested for his 6th OWI after a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper saw him flee the scene of a crash, ending with a foot chase in a parking lot.

A release from the Wisconsin State Patrol states that 62-year-old Josh Fitzgerald Flowers from Green Bay was reportedly arrested for his sixth Operating While Intoxicated offense on Friday, March 14.

The incident began around 11:25 p.m. when a State Trooper who was driving south on Ashland Avenue in Green Bay saw a Ford Mustang leave the road, drive through a ditch onto South Oakland Avenue, and crash into a pole.

Flowers then allegedly left the scene and drove to a nearby parking lot. The Trooper then reported seeing Flowers get out of the car and continue to flee on foot.

After a brief foot pursuit, Flowers was taken into custody. Flowers was placed under arrest for OWI and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The results of a blood draw are pending.
