Trump: ‘Winning Is What Matters’ in Hegseth Vote

President Donald Trump emphasized the importance of securing victory after Vice President J.D. Vance broke a tie in the Senate, confirming Pete Hegseth as secretary of defense despite opposition from three Republicans, including former Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Breitbart reported.

Trump responded to news that McConnell of Kentucky, along with Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, voted against Hegseth’s confirmation.

Trump said he was unaware of McConnell’s opposition and focused instead on the successful confirmation.
