Two arrested in Manitowoc County after allegedly obtaining and distributing “large quantities” of cocaine

(WFRV) – Authorities in Manitowoc County say two people were arrested for obtaining and distributing “large quantities” of cocaine following a three-month-long investigation.

According to a release from the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, Manitowoc residents Eric Neal and Jessica Hayes were arrested on February 16 on charges of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver.

The arrests were made following a three-month-long joint investigation between the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit and the Drug Enforcement Administration (Green Bay).

Officials say investigators had received information that both suspects had been obtaining and distributing large quantities of cocaine within the City of Manitowoc.

Neal and Hayes were stopped on February 16 by a coordinated traffic stop conducted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Metro Drug Unit, and the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office on Interstate 43 in Manitowoc County.

Following the traffic stop, investigators found and seized one kilogram of cocaine from inside the vehicle Neal and Hayes were in.

A search warrant was then conducted at the home of the two suspects which resulted in finding and seizing additional amounts of cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and cash believed to be from the sale of narcotics.

Neal and Hayes are currently being held at the Manitowoc County Jail on the following allegations:

  • Distributing Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Deliver
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Keeper of a Drug House, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Neglect of a Child (exposure to drug distribution)
  • Drug Offense Repeater

Both of the suspects made an appearance in court on February 17 resulting in each receiving a $50,000 cash bail.

Neal and Hayes are expected to make an initial appearance in court at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, February 24.
