(WFRV) – Three businesses have been selected as finalists in Wisconsin’s Main Street Place-Makeover Contest.
Two of the businesses are located in Northeast Wisconsin; Craft Creek Brewing Co. in Manitowoc and Victoria’s Pet Nutrition in Fond du Lac. The third business is Coloma Creamery, located in Coloma.
These businesses were named finalists in the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation’s (WEDC’s) Annual Main Street Place-Makeover Contest, where the winner will receive design assistance and up to $5,000 in outdoor enhancements.

The contest is in its third year, and 96 Connect Communities had the opportunity to nominate unattractive or underused spaces that could be helped to spruce up their businesses.
Using space in thoughtful ways to complement local businesses, draw in visitors, and enhance the quality of life for residents is a key feature of vibrant downtowns. The Place-Makeover Contest gives businesses and communities a chance to think creatively about how to use their downtown spaces.

Other nominees include a variety of patios, sidewalk terraces, alleyways, parking lots and spaces not contributing to the downtown areas. The spaces were evaluated based on the potential to impact the business and the district.
The winner will be announced in mid-January and will spend months working with WEDC Main Street officials as well as consultants from Ayes Associates.
The final transformation of the winning business will be unveiled during a public ceremony later this summer and will feature state and local officials.
