(WFRV) – A Green Bay man was arrested and charged after he allegedly used someone else’s identification to claim multiple jackpots at the Oneida Casino over three years.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by Local 5, 44-year-old Thai Yang is facing 14 charges after allegedly using someone else’s information to claim jackpots at the Oneida Casino. On February 13, around 8 p.m. officers with the Oneida Police Department were sent to the Oneida Casino for a fraud complaint.

The casino’s slot department was claiming that there was a man, later identified as Yang, who was using an identification card that was not his. The identification card Yang was reportedly using was for someone who claimed to have never gambled at the Oneida Casino.

The person claimed that he was getting letters from the IRS saying he was not claiming his taxes.

When authorities got to the casino, they met with Yang and asked if they could see his identification card. Yang then gave the officers the identification card.

The complaint says that after Yang was questioned by authorities he admitted that the identification card belonged to a relative and he has been using that card.

When authorities searched Yang, they reportedly found two Oneida Casino jackpot tax forms that contained the information of the victim. The complaint says that the victim did not give consent for Yang to use his identification to claim jackpots and wanted to pursue charges.

It was reported that there were 13 instances of Yang intentionally using the victim’s state-issued identification card at the Oneidca Casino to claim jackpot winnings. In total, the 13 jackpots added up to $22,539.26 according to the complaint.

The dates of the jackpots ranged from February 2021 to February 2024.
