WFRV Local 5’s Kringle win helps raise nearly $6K during Kringle Combine

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Despite the chilly weather and rain, spirits were anything but dampened at the first-ever Kringle Combine, where community members gathered to support The Salvation Army, and get a taste of something special.

Held in partnership with local bakery, Uncle Mike’s, the event was a flavor-packed success that left everyone buzzing about the power of Kringle.

More than 1,200 people showed up to sample the one-of-a-kind Kringle creations, raising $5,940.17 for The Salvation Army. With a $5 tasting ticket attendees got the chance to play judge in a delicious competition between local media and community teams.

In total, 1,084 ballots were cast, and after tallying the votes, the honor of Kringle Champion went to us, WFRV Local 5 News, where our “First Round French Toast” flavor stole the show with 381 votes.

Our winning Kringle had crowds lining up for another bite, and according to organizers, it may soon be making its way into Uncle Mike’s store shelves.
