JANESVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) – A man in southern Wisconsin charged with killing the mother of his child was sentenced to life in prison and won’t be eligible for parole until 2075.
According to the Janesville Police Department, Logan Barclay was sentenced to life in prison for shooting the mother of his child. Barclay will reportedly not be eligible for parole until 2075, when he turns 73.
District Attorney Jason Sanders reportedly argued for a lifetime sentence without any eligibility for parole. Sanders said that Barclay had a calculated plan and lured his child’s mother to a secluded dirt trail so he could shoot her, take her cellphone and leave her to die.

Some crimes are so heinous that the State must not make any concessions. It is our job to fight for the victim, their family, and the community as a whole, and I’m proud of our work. I am especially thankful for the excellent, empathetic work of Kim Rau, helping the victim’s family through the court process, and the grieving process.
