Xceptional Athlete: Kimberly’s Raegan Krueger

KIMBERLY, Wis. (WFRV) – After a rollercoaster of a season, Kimberly senior Raegan Krueger is a state champion. The Minnesota-Duluth commit guided the Papermakers to a 29-1 record and their first gold ball since 1998.

But the path to the Resch Center was far from simple for Krueger. After playing some of the best basketball of her career through 16 games, the senior injured her PCL against Pewaukee. Luckily, the recovery timeline on a partial PCL tear allowed Krueger to rehab and return for the Makers’ playoff run.

That didn’t stop another roadblock from emerging in Kimberly’s sectional final game against that same Pewaukee team. Krueger re-injured her knee in that contest and didn’t return. With less than a week of recovery time, the senior played and starred in both Papermaker wins in the state tournament.
